When I am in the “Latest news” theme setting tab, I can’t get the “read more text” field to update in my VW charity Pro Theme. I change the text and hit publish, but the “Lorem Ipsum” dummy text stays in place. I cannot get it to update. All other fields in the theme update. I’ve been able to update the section title and add a background image… but the “read more text” that sits underneath the section title WILL NOT CHANGE. Has anyone run into this? Are there any fixes?

    Hi,

As per your query, could you please provide us your site URL.

So we can review and give you some solution for that.

    Thanks

Thank you. Yes – currently the site is at: http://tailgateforthecure.com/wordpress1/ (but I may be migrating my wordpress version of the site to the root http://tailgateforthecure.com in the next day or so… so look in both places)

If you scroll the the bottom of the home page, you will see the placeholder text that I can’t seem to update. I update the “read more text” field in the theme settings, but it does not render on the page.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Heidenreich,

As per your query, we have fixed the read more button and now you can change the text also.

Go to https://www.vwthemes.com/my-account/ with your details. Then go to https://www.vwthemes.com/my-account/downloads/ and download the updated theme with the same version.

Then login to your FTP or Cpanel. Go to wp-content/themes and upload the zip file you have downloaded. First rename the existing theme folder then extract the newly uploaded theme.

If you need any other help please let us know.

    Thanks

Thank you. I will do my best to follow the instructions and update the theme. Before I do so, is there any chance this will mess up the customizations I’ve made to date?

    Hi Heidenreich,

As per your query, nothing will get removed from your customization when you will update the theme with the new version.

    Just override the theme only.

    Thanks
