change comment pagination in gym theme

Hello,
Is it possible to change the default comment pagination so in the Gym theme, when pages are split when they have too much comments, the newest stay at page 1 and not at page for or 5?
Also,the standard 1 2 3 type numbering only shows up at te bottem, is it possible to get those numbers also at the top of the page?
